The Protecting God’s Children training teaches participants how to ensure a safe environment for youth at the parish, school, and off-site activities; recognize and respond to possible abuse indicators, and report concerns about potential abuse. To complete the PGC training, volunteers should contact Fabiola Aguilera at [email protected].
Upon completion of that training, individuals will be directed to a link to additional online training on mandated reporting in Massachusetts. The mandated reporter training can be found at http://51a.middlesexcac.org/. Copies of the mandated reported certificates should be sent to Fabiola Aguilera at [email protected].
Reporting requirement
As mandated reporters, employees, and volunteers of the church are required to report suspected child abuse to DCF. You can file your written report online here https://www.mass.gov/how-to/report-child-abuse-or-neglect-as-a-mandated-reporter. Save a copy of the written report for your files and submit a copy to the Office of Child Advocacy, Fax #: 617-746-5989. For questions or help reporting child abuse or neglect, please contact the Office of Child Advocacy at 617-746-5995.
